Glimpse of a photographers day
On a very cold winters day, finding myself stood on the end of Porthleven pier. The aim for the day is to make a short video of the bodyboarders making the most of the swell coming in off the reef.
​
Porthleven has one of the best reefs in Cornwall, with the right conditions waves swell up in front of the pier and break left and right. The brave enter the water here, as if you bail too late you will meet the end of the pier wall. Not somewhere you want to end up!

A one of a kind collection that can never be repeated. 61 opals weighting in around 715 carats of all different colours, patterns and grades. These were placed at random to produce the layout in the video then photographed with a Hasselblad H4D
